VET ONLY PRODUCT - Oral, Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) with low gastro-intestinal toxicity and rapid excretion |

| COMPOSITION |
Copper Indomethacin 2 mg / tablet |
| Actions |
CU-ALGESIC provides excellent analgesia as well as potent anti-inflammatory activity, with very low gastro-intestinal toxicity, unlike other NSAID's. It provides inhibition of cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase pathways, inhibition of bradykinin production and superoxide dismutase mimetic activity (free radical scavenging and sparing of Nitric Oxide). CU-ALGESIC has a once daily dosage regime, and predictable excretion rate even with repeated dosing. CU-ALGESIC is the only NSAID known to be a free radical scavenger. Copper chelation of the parent NSAID (Indomethacin) produces a unique pharmacological substance with significantly increased anti-inflammatory potency, broader inhibition of inflammatory reactions, and virtual elimination of adverse side effects, especially gastro-intestinal ulceration. Laboratory trials record this potency as at least 12 times that of phenylbutazone. CU-ALGESIC is proven to provide virtually nil incidence of gastro-intestinal ulceration and renal damage, which are common side effects of most NSAIDs. CU-ALGESIC is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Peak plasma levels are achieved within 3 - 4 hours of administration. |
